Westiepoo Hybrid Dogs
Physical Description
The Westiepoo dog, sometimes called the Wee-Poo dog, is a hybrid dog created by breeding a purebred West Highland White Terrier with a Miniature Poodle. Since the purebred Westie is all white, the color will be inherited from the Poodle side of the cross, resulting in an amazing variety of colors.
Westie-Poo dogss can vary from apricot to solid black, black with white, creams, yellows, chocolate colors and white with any other color. The coat of this canine hybrid is typically very low shedding and curly to slightly wavy, usually shorter to moderate in length. The hair tends to look fairly tousled even when freshly groomed and bathed.

The body of the Westiepoo is longer than it is tall and they are very active and athletic. The legs are shorter and stocky and the rib cage and chest are wider and well developed. The neck is short and the head is very terrier like in appearance with bright, alert round eyes, moderately long muzzle and ears that may be pricked or turned over at the top, hanging down to about cheek level. The nose is usually very dark, almost button like in appearance, especially on the white and lighter colored dogs. The tail is moderately long and well fringed, carried high on the body and constantly in wagging when the dog is in motion.
Temperament
As with most terrier cross hybrid breeds the Westie-Poo dog is an active and fun loving dog that absolutely has to be in the center of the action, no matter what is going on. These dogs are great with children of all ages and are also typically very friendly towards other dogs and household pets when raised together and properly socialized. Some Wee-Poo dogs may be prone to chasing and digging if they strongly favor the terrier but they are not typically aggressive or territorial.
The Westiepoo is a very fast learner and will become bored if routines are too repetitive. Westie-Poo dogs love a challenge and will quickly learn how to make you smile. Many owners report that these dog types will almost housetrain themselves if given the opportunity to get outdoors when needed. They love to make their owners happy and the best reward is lots of love and attention. Highly geared to interacting with people they are not a breed that likes to be left alone.

Grooming and General Care
The coat of the Westiepoo puppy or dog is easy to care for with a good twice a week grooming with a pin brush or a stiff bristle brush. They should only be wet bathed when necessary to prevent drying out the skin and coat, however dry shampoo can be used in between full baths. Clipping will also help reduce grooming requirements.
The Wee-Poo is an active little dog that needs time to get outside for one or two fairly long, brisk walks or play sessions a day. Ideal for smaller spaces they will exercise inside during the day between walks. The Westiepoo will literally follow the owners around the house and doesn't like to be left out of the action. They are a terrific jogging companion and they love to be outdoors exploring and playing.
