Bridal Hair: Resolving the Dilemma
You are spending your time planning your wedding. Everything is thought of and planned for down to the aisle runner for the wedding ceremony. Have you thought about your hair? Most brides do not think much about this until the day comes to try on a veil and the attendant asks, out of no where, "How will you have your hair done on your wedding day?" Stunned that you had not thought about it, you have no way to respond. After all, what is it that you are going to do with your hair to have a fabulous look? Since everyone will be spending their time looking at you on the wedding day, it is imperative that you take into consideration your hair now!
What Bridal Hair Options Do You Have?
If you have not done so yet, make an appointment with your favorite hair stylist and have them help you to go over your wedding day hairdo. Perhaps you do not have a planning team of stylists to do your hair, but you do need a meeting with your stylist to determine what your options are and to work out the details. You want to be prepared for the look that you want and you want your stylist to be prepared to make her magic happen. On the day of the wedding, the last thing that you need is to try and figure out the best way to do your hair. Worse yet is the fact that mistakes and problems that happen that day push your day off time wise!
There are many great options for you to consider though and you want to consider as many as possible. Let's take into consideration what most brides do on this day. That is to pull up their hair for a great looking updo. The benefits of this type of style are many including the fact that updos are elegant, clean lined and it provides your face with all of the attention rather than your hair. Working with your stylist, consider the updo for your face shape. Those that have a round face will want to consider a longer veil. On the other hand, those that have a narrow face will want a fuller styled veil.
When considering the updo, also take into consideration how heavy your veil will be. Some wedding veil styles are much heavier than others are. You may want to consider one that offers a lighter feel to it for a loose updo. On the other hand, a tight updo will help to give the heavier veil more support in your hair. There are plenty of styles of updos that can be used here all of which can provide you with a range of great looks, but take into consideration which will work best for your veil.
Next, think about the updo's look. Some updos offer tightly pulled hair into a bun like structure at the back of your head. Others offer a lower pulled tight bun at the nape of your neck. Or, you may want more intricately designed updos with braids or specific positioning of the hair. Still other updos give lots of curls and flowing locks. Some will offer more on the top of the head while others will allow for the hair to be at the back of the head. All of these decisions sound like a lot but realize too that your stylist will give you options that seem to fit your needs the best. Often, it is about looking and feeling good! You also will need to see what the options are and how they will work on your face and with your veil. That's one of the reasons to have a stylist work on your hair earlier on than your wedding day!
Loose Locks: Not For Every Bride
Perhaps the idea of having all of your hair pulled back is not what you are longing for in your amazing wedding day look. No problem! Letting your hair down and creating a loose look is a great choice for many brides. Again, having that meeting with your stylist will help you to find the best look for your face and for your overall look. Many times, the biggest problem with hair that is down is the veil. Take it with you and allow the stylist to give you several selections to choose from. That will help you to have the best results on your wedding day.
Many hairstyles that are loose and down are very romantic. But, that does not mean that they can be messy looks. When you are crafting a hairstyle for your wedding, you want your hair to be under control, neat and well done. You do not want to have a knotted mess on the top of your head. A good way to keep your hair under control or at least to allow it to look like this is to plan to have a veil that is longer than your hair so that stray hairs do not get in the way of your overall look. With that thought in mind, also think about the fact that because your hair is down, the wedding veil may be too heavy to be supported by your hair. A lighter veil may be necessary for this type of hairstyle.
What About Your Headpiece?
Today's bride is looking to be the queen of the ball and to make that happen many bride's like to wear tiaras or other jewels in their hair. This is an amazing look and when done correctly will help to set you off from most other brides out there. IF you are planning to have these items in your hair, you need to plan for it. That means meeting with your hair stylist and allowing them to work in these features into the hair design that they create for you. An updo with beautiful jewels laid in the hair can be a beautiful look but so can a loose fit if it is done correctly. With your stylist's help, you can make this happen. Nevertheless, you do need to be sure that you bring these things to your stylist so that they can know what and how to use them.
Because the bride is the center of attention on her wedding day, it is crucial to be sure that your hair looks just the way you want it to. No matter which type of style you strive for, the goal is to have a plan and to have no surprises come wedding day. Talk with your stylist about the options for your hair. You will be surprised at just how many options you have. We recommend that you get in a meeting with your stylist at least 2 to 3 weeks before the wedding. Try out several styles until you find that one that makes you say, "Wow!"

Thanks for these awesome ideas. I have really thin hair and was looking for bridal styles that were "worn down" instead of up, but I'm afraid the curl will come right out. For more ideas (and professional help), check out http://www.joseluissalon.com
